Alerus Center: Notification Inconsistencies Between 'Enter' vs. 'Add Details' Submission Methods
Issue Summary
There seems to be an inconsistency in how notifications are triggered depending on the method used to submit incidents. Specifically, push and email notifications behave differently when an incident is created by pressing Enter versus using the "Add Details" button.
Environment Details
- Site URL: Alerus Center - aleruscenter.wetrack.com
- Affected Users: Chase McDermott (Chase.McDermott@oakviewgroup.com) and Breanne Sypherd (Breanne.Sypherd@oakviewgroup.com). Testing was done in the Alerus Center's WeTrack environment.
Reproduction Steps
- Create an incident by filling in details and pressing Enter to submit.
- Create another incident using the "Add Details" button instead.
- Compare the notification behavior for users who are part of the assigned user group but not the submitter.
Verification
Chase McDermott has tested and Hayley has been able to recreate. Using both the Incident Command account and his user account, he confirmed that notifications are correctly suppressed when the submitter is part of the assigned group. However, there's an inconsistency in notifications between using Enter versus the "Add Details" submission method for other users.

Hi Megan. Can you share what is inconsistent? I am not sure i follow. Also unless in doubt, bugs should be reported on Jira please as no one from Engineering has any access to Documentus.
-
Hayley Burkhardt can you provide some additional context on this one?
-
please get this logged onto Jira as engineers would have to see the details.
-
Hi Hayley Burkhardt - I am testing this behavior. I ran a quick set of tests and confirmed that, as the submitter, my account did not receive a notification in either workflow (I assume this is expected since I am part of the assigned user group.):
1. Submitting using the Add button
2. Submitting using Add Details
What I’m not fully clear on is the specific inconsistency reported regarding notifications for other users in the assigned group when comparing the ‘Add button-Enter‑key’ submission versus the ‘Add Details’ submission. Can you share what is inconsistent?I’ve attached screenshots showing the two emails that another account in the user group received during my tests.

Thanks in advance for your help! -
Hi Edwin, Hayley and Chase were able to recreate this during our call but this was first reported 2 months ago and Hayley won't be able to accurately recall more than what is in this message given all the time that has passed.

Hi Megan – Thank you for your response. Would you or Hayley be able to confirm with the client whether this issue is still affecting their system? If it is, we can create a new ticket to schedule a meeting and gather additional details.
If a new ticket is needed, is it okay for me to create it on behalf of Christianne Beck? I noticed that most of the previous tickets are associated with her account. Thank you, and apologies for the delay. -
Hey Edwin I'm not sure who Christianne is I would log any new tickets needed under Chase McDermott (Chase.McDermott@oakviewgroup.com – he's been our main contact for this one.
I will send them an email to see if they are still seeing this and I am also looking back through my files to see if this was a call that was recorded and if that link is still active. I'll cc you on my email
