Room Diagrams: avoid overlap for certain layers - elements should not be placed on certain layers

Is it possible to draw something (e.g. rectangle, text) in a room diagram, put in on a layer and then don't allow overlap? Use case is that in a room diagram emergency exists and escape routes or other areas should be drawn where no elements such as tables and chairs are allowed to be placed.
I couldn't find an option in Room Diagrams to avoid overlap (as we have it in EFP) for a layer. Is there any other workaround to manage this process?

No, not really, as the suggested solution does not prevent someone from placing diagram elements on top of other elements or drawings.
