New UI Planned Improvements for 25.1

Improvements that are in progress based upon feedback. Please review patch notes to see what is included in a 24.4 patch. Patching back is determined upon risk & criticality. 

1. Drawers
   • What: Expanding drawers to full screen.
   • Why: Users have noted that drawers are too small for updating some subjects. We are usability testing a full-page expansion option to maintain context while addressing this feedback.
2. Breadcrumbs & App Navigation
   • What: Testing contextual breadcrumbs.
   • Why: Users have noted that data-hierarchical breadcrumbs, while industry standard, are not ideal for deeper workflows. They prefer contextual breadcrumbs that offer clearer visibility of their navigation paths.
3. Grid Filtering & Searching
   • What: Adding quick filters in a limited capacity and improving the "Search For" fields.
   • Why: To enhance workflow efficiency. Users have requested designated fields for frequent searches and the ability to search across more than just the description field. These needs may vary based on roles, regions, or customers.
4. Save Button Confusion
   • What: Improving the functionality of the Save & Cancel buttons throughout the application.
   • Why: Users find it confusing that the Save button in drawers and modals closes the action, while the Save button on a page applies changes without navigating away. 
5. Adding Multiple Notes & Activities

   • What: Adding a "Save & Add New" action for notes and activities in drawers.

   • Why: Users have noted that adding multiple notes or activities via a drawer is click-heavy, requiring them to repeatedly reopen the drawer.

6. Function Row Colors
   • What: Restoring row-wide colors for functions and researching solutions to support WCAG color contrast compliance.
   • Why: Users rely on row colors to easily distinguish between different levels. However, customer-configured colors may not always meet compliance standards.
7. Navigation Menu
   • What: Adding a hover state for the navigation menu.
   • Why: Users have reported frequent frustration with the extra clicks required to open and close the navigation menu, as well as the shifting of the application viewing area when the menu opens or closes.
8. Persisting Calendar State & Last Viewed Dashboard
   • What: The Calendar's last state and the last viewed dashboard will now be retained when users navigate away and return.
     Why: Users currently need to reset temporary settings each time, reducing efficiency.
