Short Summary of issue (issue description): When sending a preauthorization link via email, an error is encountered when trying to submit the preauthorization.

Recreation Steps:

  1. Navigate to event 26400
  2. On the Details tab, find the Exhibitors section
  3. Select an exhibitor, right-click > Tools > Send Email
  4. Enter the email address and select the "Preauthorization of Payment from Exhibitors" email template
  5. From the Email window, select Actions > Preview Email
  6. Once the preview opens, click the link "Click Here for Preauthorization"
  7. The link opens in a new tab
  8. Enter the credit card information including name, card number, expiration date, CVV, and zip code, then click Submit
  9. An error message is encountered

 

Observed vs. Expected Results: Would expect the preauthorization to be saved without error

What does the client want to accomplish: Successfully demonstrate preauthorization for customers

 

Please advise, Cathy Herrick Mike Schepker Samuel Davidson - do we think this is a bug?

    Heather Lightsey Doesn't look like the link in the email template is pointing to a Gateway, but I'm not 100% sure how this process works. 

    I would try to set this and see if you can get a payment to go through - just make sure the gateway is pointing to a MoPay account in the Staging environment. 

    I don't know what Payment Authorization Type is for though either - can you expand on what they are trying to accomplish? If they need to have a link to show a payment being made, they should select a payment portal type to then redirect to a portal. This would then follow the normal hierarchy of gateways.

    Marley Kezerian, Seth Halvaksz  - I couldn't find any documentation on how the preauthorization payment link process works either.
    Do we have any internal guidance about setting this up, how it is expected to function or how to troubleshoot?

    Cathy, this looks like a bug in the pre-authorization workflow. Just send a bug over to us.
