š Possible Bug - Ops Hub, In-App Notifications May Not Fire for Completed Jobs
Answered- Environment Observed: Demo and Prod
- Account Name:Ā SAFE Credit Union Convention Center & Performing Arts District
- Account ID: account-193
- Is this a converted account?Ā Unsure. There is a note that says āFormerly Sacramento Convention Center.ā
- Date Converted (if known):Ā Unknown
- Issue Scope: Even when notification settings are enabled, the in-app pop-up notifications did not appear when a job was completed.
- Event Name: N/A
- Event ID: N/A
- Was the issue reported by the client? No, this was observed during internal testing.
- Client Contact Name (if yes): N/A
- Client Contact Email (if yes): N/A
- Whatās the problem? Amber did not receive the expected in-app pop-up notification after Megan marked a job as done. Amber had notifications enabled for all jobs, all notification types, and āAnnounceā was turned on. The Knowledge Base says āAnnounceā should trigger an in-app pop-up, but it did not appear.
- Is the issue reproducible? It was reproduced once in testing, but root cause is still unclear because impersonation may have affected the result.
- If reproducible, where?Ā Demo and Prod
- Pitstop Account:Ā N/A
- Pitstop Event ID: N/A
- Steps to reproduce the issue:
- In a demo account, assign a job to another user.Ā
- Access that user via impersonation.Ā
- Mark the job and its checklist items complete.Ā
- Check whether the original user receives the expected in-app pop-up notification.Ā
- Observe that the job status updates, but no pop-up appears.
- Expected behavior: When a subscribed job notification arrives and Announce is enabled, the user should receive an in-app pop-up notification.
-
Troubleshooting steps already taken:
- Verified Amber was subscribed to all notifications, all types, all jobs.
- Verified Announce toggle was on.
- Checked knowledge base guidance stating Announce should produce an in-app pop-up.
- Considered whether impersonation mode suppresses the notification.
- Jonathan Mahler was pinged for clarification.
- Workaround identified? No workaround identified yet.

Hey Megan,
We should be notifying for Completed/Done, so this is a bug.
Given a job I care about moves to an active status (To Do, In Progress, Blocked, or Done) When the status change is saved Then a notification is created for me showing what the job moved to, who changed it, and when ā and the bell badge increments to reflect the new unread count
