• Issue Scope: Even when notification settings are enabled, the in-app pop-up notifications did not appear when a job was completed.

• What’s the problem? Amber did not receive the expected in-app pop-up notification after Megan marked a job as done. Amber had notifications enabled for all jobs, all notification types, and “Announce” was turned on. The Knowledge Base says “Announce” should trigger an in-app pop-up, but it did not appear.
• Is the issue reproducible? It was reproduced once in testing, but root cause is still unclear because impersonation may have affected the result.

• Steps to reproduce the issue:

1. In a demo account, assign a job to another user. 
2. Access that user via impersonation. 
3. Mark the job and its checklist items complete. 
4. Check whether the original user receives the expected in-app pop-up notification. 
5. Observe that the job status updates, but no pop-up appears.

• Expected behavior: When a subscribed job notification arrives and Announce is enabled, the user should receive an in-app pop-up notification.
• Troubleshooting steps already taken:
  1. Verified Amber was subscribed to all notifications, all types, all jobs.
  2. Verified Announce toggle was on.
  3. Checked knowledge base guidance stating Announce should produce an in-app pop-up.
  4. Considered whether impersonation mode suppresses the notification.
  5. Jonathan Mahler was pinged for clarification.

  Hey Megan,

  We should be notifying for Completed/Done, so this is a bug.

  Given a job I care about moves to an active status (To Do, In Progress, Blocked, or Done) When the status change is saved Then a notification is created for me showing what the job moved to, who changed it, and when — and the bell badge increments to reflect the new unread count
