EventDraw Questions - Arc Shape, Versioning and Importing new Room Diagrams
Refer to Product Ideas
- I want to place 50 chairs in a theatre style setup which is an arc shape. So basically telling ED to place 50 chairs in a "shape arc" theatre style. I am aware of the "Shape arc" features to quickly create such an arc theatre style setup. However this is not really helping me if I have only 50 chairs to place. Any thoughts?

Rob Rebman Answer: You can't tell it to place x number of chairs. Once drawn you could highlight all the chairs to get an inventory report and delete the chairs you don't want.
2. Does ED support versioning so that I can jump back to a previous version of the drawing? I know there is "Save as" to potentially save a couple of different drawings. But this might conflict with Momentus Integration as I think there can be only one ED drawing per function.
RobRebman Answers: Only one EventDraw diagram can be associated with a function (and service order). You could save a copy to the EventDraw cloud but you couldn't switch it with the one tied to the function (and service order). You could also create the versions in EventDraw first and then once agreed to the version they want, copy the diagram into the once created via the Enterprise Integration (via copy/paste)
3. Can a customer (venue) import the groundplan of a room themselves or does this always have to be done by ED? E.g. later on another room should be added to the Templates. Can a customer do that without ED support?
Rob Rebman Answer: EventDraw Admin Users can use the Save as on any existing diagram to use as a template later. If a user needs to import a file that is DWG, that will need to be imported by the EventDraw team.

Question #3 Update, You can import diagrams from PDF, JPG and then save them as templates.

I sent these questions to EventDraw. I'll update here when i get answers.

I received a response from Eventdraw, and it confirmed Rob's responses:
1) From EventDraw: “While the software doesn't currently allow users to specify an exact chair count when generating an arc, this is a feature request we can certainly consider”. Can you open product feedback for this?
2) In addition to Rob's feedback, EventDraw is working on a way to access previous versions of a room diagram. They expect to have by end of 2026.
3) Confirming what Rob said - here is the response from EventDraw: “If a user needs to import a file that is DWG, that will need to be imported by the EventDraw team.”
