🐛 Possible Bug - In app Word editor behavior for Handlebars templates

  • Issue:
    • They use Handlebars for Summary templates
    • They have previously been able to add color to cells on contract to indicate different status. (They would add red or yellow background color to cells)
    • They are not able to do this in their summary template anymore
    • Here is previously what the highlighted empty cells behavior looked like:

  • Steps to reproduce the issue
    • Log into account
    • Go to event
    • Go to contracting tab
    • Generate contract (which is in Handlebars). You may only generate as PDF, no option for Word.
    • Click into the contract 
    • Use more info to edit document
    • I can add color as highlight. I can't add color to cell background like previously able.
  • Expected behavior
    • Based on what they have provided I would expect to be able to fill an entire cell without font in it
  • Troubleshooting steps already taken
    • Call with customer to see behavior, testing in demo, additional follow up with customer

    Hey Amber Lough , I am not aware of any changes we made with Handlebars recently that would have caused this.  The only thing I could think is if it's related to RTF being used, but that's been out for a while as well.  Kristi Miles , do you have any ideas here?

    This one is interesting. Yeah, it is more of a highlight instead of coloring in the cells. It would have been this way since we put this editor in place, and certainly not anything recent. @Amber Lough, this editor is not really updated since we are moving everything to use Insights. Elizabeth Fox RTF is not supported in Handlebars, which is why we are trying to move folks over, so it would not have been due to that. Not really a bug but I don't know if this can be changed with an enhancement since it is a third party solution.

    Elizabeth Fox is it worth checking with dev to see if they're able to do something / should this be considered a bug since it was available in the old editor but now isn't in this "new" iteration?

    I'd say while it's not a bug, it could be raised for investigation.  I'd rather encourage this customer to move to Insights
 what are the chances there, Amber Lough ?

    Hi Elizabeth Fox I asked them about this when I took over as their SD consultant last fall. At that time it was a “long, slow process” to move them over from Handlebars to Insights - specifically their event summaries (12 of them). They've already moved on contracts, proposals, invoices, payment receipts, credit memos, and exhibitor services. It's the event summaries and event orders that remain. I know there were initially some limitations as to why they didn't move already, but it might be something that is resolved. I recently asked them about it again, but haven't heard back.
