I've moved this to the Ask Mo Best Practices forum and also updated the title to be a little more specific. I can't tag Nate yet, but I'll send him a link to this post. If we can get answers, I can create a Security/Data article in the customer-facing knowledge base, because these do keep coming up!

Hey Anitha, great questions from TAU. Before I jump into the answers, just want to flag something for the broader team: anytime questions like these come up around Ask Mo's data handling, logging, privacy, or AI practices, the first place to look is the AI Transparency Report (v1.0, March 2026) available through our Trust Center. That document was built specifically to answer these types of customer questions. It's customer-facing, so it can be shared directly with the account if they want the full picture. Let's make that the default starting point so we're giving consistent, accurate answers every time.
Now, for TAU's specific questions:
Are Ask Mo Support prompts and responses logged? Yes. Conversation history (prompts and responses) is stored in an encrypted, tenant-isolated database. This is standard for all deployments and supports troubleshooting and quality improvement.
How long are interaction logs retained? Conversation and operational data are retained for the duration of the customer's active deployment. Retention is configurable per deployment. Customers can request removal of their Ask Mo data as part of offboarding or by contacting support.
Can Momentus staff access interaction logs? A limited set of authorized Momentus personnel can access conversation data on a need-to-know basis, primarily to troubleshoot issues, investigate unexpected results, and provide support. Access controls and operational processes are in place to limit this to only what's necessary.
Are user questions used to train or improve AI models? No. Conversation data is not used to train, fine-tune, or otherwise update any AI model, neither by Momentus nor by our AI model provider (AWS Bedrock).
Does Ask Mo use third-party AI model providers? Yes. Ask Mo uses Anthropic's large language models accessed through AWS Bedrock, which is a managed enterprise AI platform from Amazon Web Services. All AI inference runs within AWS's enterprise-grade, compliant infrastructure. Momentus does not build or train its own foundation models.
Is data processed outside New Zealand or Australia? Ask Mo supports region-specific deployments, including APAC. Since TAU is in the APAC region, their deployment should be routed through our APAC infrastructure. I'd recommend confirming their specific deployment region with the implementation team to give TAU a precise answer here.
Are Ask Mo prompts or logs stored separately from the core Momentus environment? Yes. Conversation history is stored in its own encrypted, tenant-isolated database. AI model call content is not retained by AWS Bedrock beyond the duration of each API call. So the Ask Mo interaction data lives in a separate data layer from the core Momentus product database.
Can TAU disable, export, or delete Ask Mo interaction logs? Customers can request removal of their Ask Mo data by contacting support or as part of offboarding. We'll coordinate removal consistent with contractual obligations. For disabling or exporting specifically, that's worth confirming with the engineering team on what self-service options exist today vs. what requires a support request.
