The customer is using a robot that marks designated areas on the floor of their exhibition halls. For this purpose, they would like to have an interface between the floor plans and the robot’s software. The question is whether the floor plans are available in our system in a way that would allow TS to develop a custom API.

    There are no APIs for this, but the users can export as a DWG, PDF, or PNG.

    I looked through our API documentation and i don't see any option to export exhibitor floor plans via API

    I would ask Tech Services this question if you're exploring a custom API.

    Tech Services forwarded me to Product. They must know if we can grab the files out of the system. Otherwise they don't have a possibility for a custom API.

    Hi Tragen Herrick, we understand that we don't have any API's for this right now. But I have heard this question before, and our customers are investigation options to replace manual work into new technology. The business case here; currently, in a lot of venues there are persons going into the halls and marking/drawing the lines of the booths manually on the floor. You can imagine that this require a lot of staff/hours, especially with a big show. When there is a robot available which can draw these lines, it would be way more efficient and saving costs. 

    We know the Floorplan can be exported in different ways, but I have the feeling that a PDF will not really work in a robot ;-) Maybe the DWG does, but using the export will still require a manual export/import to the robot. So it might worth to investigate this as enhancement, since I see potential here.
