Emailing to a distribution list email
Hello!
The Bushnell team attempted to send their Event Orders to a distribution email address and received a “soft bounce.”
Can Elite send emails to external distribution lists (e.g., a shared departmental email) so that everyone on that list receives the message? Or do distribution lists only work when they are created as contact groups within Elite?
Additionally, is there any limit to the number of recipients in an Outlook distribution group that could cause this type of issue?
Thank you!
Michelle

Following up on this – I asked them how many emails were a part of the eventoutlinedistributionlist@bushnell.org and there are 79 members on the list.

An external distribution list should work, as in the past we'd advise using that to get around the 50-recipient limit we have when sending from Elite. Not sure if Emma Whitlock or Kristi Miles know more.
Side note, I did notice that the recipient limit is only in the About Contact Groups article. I need to get that added to the actual Email documentation.

@... That's what my thought was too but I dug some on Postmark and it's logged as a soft bounce with this error:
smtp;550 5.7.133 RESOLVER.RST.SenderNotAuthenticatedForGroup; authentication required; Delivery restriction check failed because the sender was not authenticated when sending to this group
Michelle Hannaford It does look like Bushnell has DKIM set up, could you have them check with their IT group as maybe it got blocked from their side? You're also more than welcome to forward this in to Support and we can work with them directly

Thanks @... and Emma Whitlock! I just looped them directly to Support.
