Adding payment steps resets due dates
Answered- Joyce Li, Finance Operations Senior Manager from Calgary Exhibition and Stampede, explained that when extra payment steps are added to a payment plan, the due dates for the remaining estimated charges get reset.
- She noted that the system resets these dates to the current day, and it won't allow backdating, forcing all due dates to be in the future.
- This issue causes problems with reporting and can delay client payments, as clients receive new payment plan reports with later due dates.
Is there a better process for this? Can we backdate the due date?

We'd have to look a the workflow and the why - but I suspect that there is logic occurring that ideally would not be running for memo payment plans.
I believe that it is updating any unpaid steps are being updated and I think that this needs to be re-though or examined for validity as I don't think it is valid for memo steps - and possibly not for invoiced payment plans even if the step is not invoiced.
Two things I'd like to address as part of this ticket:
1.) Allow backdating of issue date. While this validation is somewhat ideal for data entry mistakes - we've had this raised elsewhere
2.) Ensure that the issue date and due dates are NOT updated for steps that are pre-existing when a step is added -
