Link Purchase Order to Requisition (via API at creation or for existing PO)

Hi Team,

We have a customer that has asked us if they can link a PO to an existing requisition during PO creation via the API. As far as I can see this isn't possible as the fields are Read Only in the API. I then looked to see if there is a way in back office Enterprise to connect an already existing PO to an existing requisition. It seems I can enter a requisition number but not a line on an existing PO line, so a full link (of PO line to requisition line) only seems possible if creating the PO from the requisition in Enterprise. 

Am I missing something here or is this the way it's designed to work ?

  This is currently only possible via enterprise workflows.  The enterprise API would have to be expanded to either:

   1.) Allow converting a requisition into a purchase order 

  
  OR

  
  2.) Allow the link of an item to the requisition item, validate it, and update the status of the requisition item in this process.
