Updating Management Report Code on service order history
AnsweredHi team. RAI Amsterdam have recently updated a lot of MRCs on resources. Now they are asking for an update of all old order lines back to 2022 so that the order line MRC is set to the resource MRC. This is to enable them to perform comparisons against historical data for sales forecasting. As most of those orders are closed I'm unable to use the API to update the order line's MRC and I'm wondering if anyone else has faced this and has a clever idea of how to achieve something like this.
I've already thought they may need to use a Crystal Report or similar to link the resource and order data and suggested that, but apparently they are actually using PowerBI to do their reporting for this and would therefore have to update their Data Lake (no idea of PowerBI so am reporting what they told me here) and would not be happy that the order data in PowerBI would not reflect the order data in Momentus.

Chris, i confirmed its not possible to update closed/cancelled orders. I don't think there are any workarounds here.
I know that RAI has their own data lake, so makes sense they will update it there for their own reporting & forecasting purposes.
We'll likely run into the same challenges as we consider other ways to do forecasting in Momentus, using Momentus Analytics for example.
Also note, the Order Item serves as a point-in-time record of the item. If people want forecasting data based on new information, they really should be using JOINs between these objects/tables for the latest data.
If the orders were still open, we'd recommend using Sycrhonize resources
