Default Event Sales Status for Web Lead Forms
AnsweredWhen I set a default event status in the web lead form configuration, the software ignores it during creation. No matter which value I choose, the account lead is always created with ‘Potential’ (which makes sense because it is a lead). But I wonder why the default value exists or why it isn’t applied.

Here's the respone i received from engineering.
"Currently, those default values set on the Web Lead Form Configuration are not being respected.
When a Lead is inserted via Web Lead Form, as per initial implementation, we just hard-coded 'P' (Prospective) for Event Sales Status instead of retrieving the value from the configuration and use it.
Similarly, '0' is set for others. We have discussed to enhance it but never got to it."
Here is the Account Statuses screenshot:

I would have an additional question to this Seth Halvaksz
Anyone else feel free to answer if you know something Mike Schepker Pieter Fourie Nicole Loh Satya Ram Nukala
When you convert a Lead to the Actual Account what Status is this Account suppose to get then? I'm dealing with a client at the moment where the outcome is always that the converted Lead will stay on the “Prospective” Status. Is that meant to be and if not what setting is this based on.
Maybe I overread it but in the articles this is not mentioned:

Mike Schepker do you know the answer? Dominik's question sounds like a general question about converting lead to an account.

I don't know what the behavior should be and the article doesn't specify what status the account should be created with. My guess is it would remain at the status of Prospective since that's what was set by the lead.
-
Generally this just seems a bit odd and currently I cannot convince the client that this is expected behavior.
I mean it just feels logical that when I convert a Lead to an Account that the status will adapt / not stay Prospective.
I understand that as already discussed here the default value is not respected at the moment. Shall I issue this as an enhancement?

I confirmed that the
Account Status After Lead Conversion
When you convert a Lead to an Account, the status assigned to the new Account is determined by the default account status configuration for your organization. By default, many systems set the status to "Prospective," but this can be changed. The Account Status window in Organization Administration allows you to select which status should be the default for new accounts. Only one status can be set as the default, and this takes effect immediately. If the default is set to "Prospective," converted leads will receive this status unless the default is changed to "Active" or another status.
Settings and Behavior:
- To change the default status, navigate to the Account Status screen, check the Default box for the desired status, and click OK.
- Only one status can be set as default at a time; if none is selected, the system defaults to "Prospective."
- The status can also be updated automatically based on business activity (e.g., booking an event or registering for an event)

-
The client has this setup to Active but whenever you convert the Lead it will get set to Prospective.
