Controlling Events available for ESC in Events List
- Account name: Ocean Center
- Region: AMER
- Client version (Enterprise): 25.3
- Description of the issue
- Client has defined filters on event list for which events to make available online based on status and category.
- Per design, only events with an Exhibit Service Orders function will actually accept online ESC orders.
- Online exhibitor user attempting to enter the ESC for an event that isn't configured properly receives an error message.
- Client wants to avoid a bad exhibitor experience by ensuring an event each event in the event list has all ESC prerequisites in place and is ready to accept orders.
- What you've already tried or suggested: nothing, looking for recommendations.
- Business impact if not resolved: eroded exhibitor online shopping experience
Original message from client:
“Looking at the filters for what events show up on the ESC store (key user training - Exhibitor Services Event List configurations). I feel like it is a long shot, but I am wondering if there is a way to only show events that have the ESC function assigned to them. Right now every firm/definite event in the next 365 days shows up on the store but if you click on them they give you the error that it needs a function. I would prefer if they didn’t show up at all. Filtering by event category isn’t ideal because we have some sports events that have vendors and some that don’t (apply same idea to anchor space, event type, event rank, and event class).”

First suggestion I have is to make use of the indicator or rank if they are not being used. Perhaps rename these to Available Online or something similar. Using the Category, Class and Type is something that events probably always have. The second option could be to use a new Status for when an event should show online.

I understand the workflow, however the option that it only shows Events with a specific Function(usage) is not possible as far as I know. I would go the same way as Martin, however Event Sensitivity is also an option.
