Copying GL Account Analysis Codes
Description of the issue: Analysis Codes do not copy over when the “New” checkbox is marked, despite the label descriptions, data model descriptions, and the field setting name being associated with an already existing analysis code.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Log into your preferred testing environment
2) From the home page, click Main Menu.
3) In the search box that appears search for “GL Accounts”, then select “GL Accounts” from the results.
4) If the results do not load immediately, click “Load Results”
5) Find an appropriate GL Account that can be copied
6) Select the account, right click to bring up the context menu, then select tools > copy. This will bring up the Copy GL Account modal.
7) Fill out the Account information with whatever you deem necessary for testing.
8) In the “New Analysis Codes” section, select the checkbox on the left of the dropdowns for half or less of the available for testing. If there is only one to test with, check the box.
9) Leave the dropdown menus blank.

10) Click Copy. This will create a new GL Account.
11) Find the new GL Account you just created.
12) Select the account, right click to bring up the context menu, then select Edit > Edit GL Account. This will bring up the Edit GL Account modal.
13) Observe the Analysis Codes associated with the new GL Account. The Analysis Codes that had the check box ticked are now empty on the new GL Account. Here is a side by side comparison for my test.
Here are the two scenarios we need answers for:
1) When the checkbox is ticked, but the drop down is empty, what is the expected behavior? Should it be blank when copied over.
2) When the checkbox is ticked, and a selection is made from the dropdown, what is the expected behavior? Will it carry over what was selected?
What is the job the client is trying to accomplish:
The client would like to copy over the account codes that are associated with specific field settings already declared.
Business impact if not resolved:
[General Ledger] Copy feature is not working as intended resulting in additional effort to assign correct analysis codes and risk of missing proper assignment.

The documentation I was able to find regarding the copying of GL Accounts or Analysis Codes does not discuss how copying works.

I would expect that by default - not checking the checkboxes - the existing analysis code values would be copied to the new GL account.
If the checkbox for new analysis code is checked - I would expect the newly created account to take in that value whether it is blank or populated with a value. (If blank - new gl account will have a blank value. If populated with "Value 1" I would expect the new GL account to be assigned to “Value 1”) -

FYI that we've added analysis codes to the Copy section in Add and Manage GL Accounts (formerly titled GL Accounts) and included the information in Ryan's comments.
