Is it correct that the customer is not currently using this for reports?  I assume they are not if there is no data in the table since 2020.

So if they don't use this currently - it comes down to is there a problem they are trying to solve where this reporting table would be useful.

The table itself is used to allocate revenue from all the service orders in the system by item by day.  So it can be useful in projecting future revenue based on the service orders that exist as of today.

If that sounds like something they want to pursue - I think it's a consulting item where an example could be run on a test database to show them the how it works and consider using going forward with a nightly job that refreshes the data based on any changes from the prior 24 hours.

The table is populated by an optional process.  If the maximum value is 2020 - then this would imply that they are not using that feature.  Any restart of this feature should probably be accompanied by a review of what they are trying to accomplish so that we can ensure that the job that populates it (typically running overnight) has the appropriate settings to capture sufficient data for the reporting - but not an unnecessarily large data set.

I would create the settings in test and run first there to see how long the process will take on what is essentially a first time run.  Subsequent runs will then be much more efficient as they only process changed or newly added records that meet the criteria.

What we don't want to do with this job is be updating the settings routinely.  It should be set for an appropriate timeframe and status filter - and generally - should not be updated going forward as the criteria should auto adjust based on a moving date range (as we move one day forward - one day forward of additional data is captured).

Ryan Ungerboeck Seth Halvaksz  - Do you know who on our team would be able to help them with this? I'm trying to determine next steps for them.

I don't know. Will defer to Ryan Ungerboeck on what he recommends since he answered above.

Ryan Ungerboeck are you thinking this needs a financial consulting engagement to figure out how to configure and run and set it up safely as well as discuss any impact?

If it hasn't been run in 5 years - I wouldn't just turn it on without an understanding of what they are trying to achieve and how long the first time run can expect to take.

Worth a double check on the daily revenue analysis screen to verify that it is in fact not running for the last 5 years as well.
