Online Event Ordering - Ability to see final details on checkout and ability to increase and decrease quantities after order is placed
Refer to Product Ideas- Account name - Auckland University of Technology
- Region - APAC
- Client version (Enterprise) - 2025.1
- Description of the issue
- What does the client want to do? Why do they want to do this?
- When discussing the use case with AUT, they have two questions related to OEO and are seeking further clarity so that they can help their customers. This directly targets to one of their main objective for 2025 which is to increase the digital footprint of AUT for its customers and save labour cost through use of digital platforms such as OEO. (They have a FTE monitoring catering orders to manage internal catering deliveries, through use of OEO they would like to reduce manual interventions as much possible and promote self sufficiency for customers)
- Final Details on Check out (on cart page) - When a package is ordered through OEO, before submitting the order through, customers would like to verify the details on what they have ordered. The issue with current process is users cannot see the details of what they have ordered to review and confirm.
- Ability to edit OEO Order details for existing order - A lot of times when customers place their order online, they would like to update the quantity of certain items such as increasing the fruit platter quantity from 2 platters to 4 platters. They cannot do it themselves currently, therefore, they need to contact the catering office to adjust quantities.
- What does the client want to do? Why do they want to do this?
- What you've already tried or suggested. Why does this not work? - No solutions present currently for suggestions as they are performing manual edits to get around the workflow.
- Business impact if not resolved - Inefficient operations and impact in OEO adoption by customers and their customers.

Snapshot 1 - You'll notice i have select Morning Tea Package but the items details are not shown

Snapshot 2 > you'll see on selection page, the item details are visible, this is what's missing on cart page.

- I've further tested this workflow and in both cases, there were no workaround for this. Would this be considered as enhancement?
- In addition, the customer expectations were similar to Online Space Booking to some extent where we have edit features but no support in OEO.

I'll look into this

Himanshu here are the answers i received from engineering:
1) I believe this is as designed. The only package items that will show in the cart for a package are optional add-on upsell items that are part of a package.
For example:
Here I have selected these foam fingers as an add-on item in this package, and the foam finger will show in the cart (and I can separately remove the add-on item from the cart and the package header will still be in the cart).

However, if I say, No Thanks to any package add-on items, only the package header will display in the cart.

As far as I'm aware, add-on upsell package items are the only exception for package details showing in the cart.
2) The last bullet point on the above post is accurate - when order editing was implemented with order processing, it was not implemented in OEO but was in OSB. From my vague memory of that effort, I believe OEO order editing was supposed to come as a later enhancement that just never happened.

Thanks Seth for reviewing this further and confirming. I have added this in Pendo now for consideration as i don't think upsell/addon would work in this case since packages are using option to choose different items with combinations.
1. OEO: Show Package Items on Cart and Checkout (New Enhancement)
2. Allow users to edit orders in public-facing portals (Upvote existing enhancement)

Seth Halvaksz Hi Seth, we have a top ARR customer (Doltone House) asking for edits on orders in OEO. I can see the existing enhancement, but are there any updates or have an idea on whether it is coming, OR is it still in really early stages of the Product Idea lifecycle.
-
Seth Halvaksz please check ticket Ticket: OEO: Unable to edit orders after it… – Momentus Support Center – Zendesk - it's quite important for them to have this functionality available and as you can see in the history of the ticket, it was something that they set up to use throughout the process of the implementation, so it was quite surprising when the functionality wasn't available.

Larissa Propato Right now we do not have OEO enhancements on the roadmap.
We are planning to redesign all ordering functionality in 2027. So i expect we will touch this then.
