Asking Samy Kheloufi if he can review this and comment on the best practice

Hi Joppe Borsboom and Seth Halvaksz ,

First, I would have used instead this support centre article:

    https://supportcenter.ungerboeck.com/hc/en-us/articles/204552078-Event-Statuses

Second, as it says in the article:

    Status Codes

Momentus Enterprise uses status code to determine certain behavior:

    • If you use Cascading (Waitlist) Bookings, all waitlist statuses must have a code of 29 or below. These status codes must be sequential and are usually in the 21-29 range.
    • Codes between 30-79 are considered Firm statuses. The first time an event moves to a status with a code of 30 or higher, the Decision Date field on the Edit Event screen defaults to the current date to record when the event first became a Firm status.
    • Codes 80 - 89 are Cancelled or Lost statuses and used with cancelling events.
    • Codes 90 - 99 are Archived Statuses and used with archiving or removing events.
    • If you use Contracts, you can link the Event Status and Contract Status.

Since the “Prepare Quote” status they want to add is a not confirmed status, it falls in the range 29 or below.

However, Belfast has already used the code 29 for "Pending Cancellation." I recommend moving (create a new status, assign the new status and delete the old one) the "Pending Cancellation" status to a much lower code, as the event is unlikely to happen, so it can be placed between 1 and 10.

And instead use the status 29 for the “Quote” status.

Additionally, I suggest using contract statuses for more detailed tracking, such as "Quote in Preparation," "Quote/Contract Sent," "Quote/Contract Signed," etc., rather than having these details at the event level.

Any further support, such as redefining statuses, assigning the new "Pending Cancellation" status to existing events, or assistance with contract statuses, would require billable consulting hours that can be taken from a Services Direct or as ad-hoc consulting.

    Cheers,

    Samy
