Reject Cookies EXP
AnsweredDescription of the Issue:
Client would like to use the exhibitor portal (they are paying for it already), but they are not able to get a release from their data protection officer in the current situation.
When opening the exhibitor portal, there is no chance for users to reject cookies - it is just possible to accept.
I somehow have in mind that this is actually correct system behaviour as for functionality all cookies are necessary.
Could you please check and approve of this and if not explain how to get the reject cookies button in place.

Correct, this is the design for how we notify users if we use cookies or not in our public apps like Exhibitor Portal. Any changes would require an enhancement request.
-
Dominik, you can submit a request to our security service desk if more information is needed

As the client is paying for EXP and also wants but currently cannot use it, I communicated to them that other Austrian Clients have not yet complained about this. Do we have reference on this whole cookie topic which could help them in order to figure this out?
Here their reply:
“According to the statement from our data protection officer, the user must, in accordance with the applicable legal basis, have the (theoretical) option to reject cookies – even if this would compromise functionality – meaning that certain applications or parts of applications would then not work. Our data protection officer also wonders how to display a precise text with the intended use of cookies, including a possible link to the privacy policy and legal information, before registration, i.e. directly on the homepage? Can you give me references from other Austrian customers where this is not a problem?” -
From Pendo analytics data, we have these 2 customers in Austria with Exhibitor Portal:

Germany has similar rules, here is a list of customers in Germany with Exhibitor Portal:

Does the content of this article count for EXP as well?

Yes, EXP and ESC share the same rules.

The client reached out to us again as their data security officer found more things which they require further information.
They found this “Font” URL's and would like to know what they are about:

Seth Halvaksz as of your comment in https://ungerboeck.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/9/SSD-1694 I'm posting this here. Why here - because it is connected to the overall Cookie Topic and the same client.
-
Dominik,
That doesn't look like one of our fonts. Is the customer using a webskin in EXP? Webskins allow customers to use their own fonts.

Seth Halvaksz due to the client they are not using any own fonts.
Isn't their any identification of those URL's we can provide in order to ease this client down?
All those doubts are coming directly from their Data Security Officer. I already shared all documentation about the Cookies and this is basically the last piece which was found in order for them to finally start using EXP. -
Dominick, I asked engineering and that is not one of our links, so the only possibility is its added by the webskin.
“I do not recognize those links. The woff2 file referenced is not one that we expect to get downloaded.”
