Validated Event Opportunity Type not Populating in Backoffice
AnsweredWe imported 5000+ entries into a validation table. The UDF is displaying and operating just fine in OSB but it is not showing any values in back office, even after clearing the server cache and browser cache. Other smaller validated tables are displaying correctly in back office. Is there a cap on the number of values that can be put on a validated list and show up in back office?

The Max Items in a list is controlled by whatever value is in System Parameter AA 933 or 4000 as a fallback if not defined.

Jeremy Elmore what knowledgebase articles have you reviewed for this question? We want to make sure we update the article when something is answered here.

Thanks. It sounds like this is a bug.
Tagging Product Management to research and confirm.

Do they have 5,000 choices for one dropdown? That would exceed the limit. Or is it 5,000 total for different validation tables.
Please include the data configuration with the ticket.
Thanks, -
They have like 5600 options for one list.
-
@... can you update documentus with the official comment.
-
Jeremy Elmore Could you help us understand the customer’s need for 5,600 records in a drop-down list? We generally recommend following the system parameter limit of 4,000 unless there’s a specific requirement to exceed it.
-
Product Management Documentus or the KB? Happy to update the KB, just have to figure out where to put that.
-
I think we can focus on Documentus and provide links to the KB articles for internal use. While I don’t want to promote changing the system parameter, we should educate that the maximum is 4000 records and acknowledge that the parameter can be adjusted if necessary.
What are your thoughts?

I think when you get into the world of budget codes/cost centers etc, you are going to see the need for large validated lists. Currently we do not have any functionality to help with the management of either of those financial pieces in the system both back end and public facing.
-
Jeremy, thanks for clarifying that this is for cost centers. We have been considering this for roadmap. Who is the customer?
-
This is Denver University. This will be especially common for universities. I think we also ran into this when we were configuring JP Morgan. Justin Wittrock can confirm the need for an inordinate amount of fields when it comes to cost centers.
-
Yes this is super common with Cost Centers for Corporate, similar for Walmart and Coca Cola as well in volume.

Hi all! I've updated Drop-Down Choices for User Defined Fields (UDFs) and Custom Fields and added a link to that article in the main Configure Custom Field Sets article.
