Resource Notes Duplicating

Hi All,

Have posted this as a JIRA but the client has asked for us to escalate. We believe this may actually be an enhancement request so wanted to post in here and find out if this is working as expected or a bug.

Have posted the JIRA details below.

1. General
Business impact if not resolved: New menu goes live at the end of this week and training is occuring. At the moment the system is not reliable enough to roll out this new menu. The menu was meant to roll out last Friday.

Short Summary of issue: Notes for package substitutions are not being removed when changing an item, instead more notes are being added.

4. Recreation Steps:
 
 

1. Login as above
2. Go to Service Order from Global Navigation Bar
3. Search for Service Order 132037
4. Edit Service Order
5. Ensure Column 'Notes' is on
6. Right click and substitute any item with notes on it (The green coloured one is what I've been testing with)
7. Change the item to another via substitution window
8. Double click notes and notice there are now multiple notes.

Expected behavior/outcome: Notes replace existing ones and are not added.

  @... - We have the ticket in the backlog.  Will need to work with Engineering to see what is possible on this one.  When you select a substitution, we keep the order line number so all existing notes stay.  Selecting a new substitution will pull over any notes from the resource in the same manner as a one up add.  I believe this will end up being an enhancement request as I don't think anything is actually broken.  I believe the ideal situation is that it removes any auto-added notes when swapping out but keeps any manually added notes.  The approach could change after discussing with others.

  Hello Seth Halvaksz, I have another case which pretty much has the same issues as this one here. 352114 - It's similar behavior, this is regarding setup substitutions where as this old case is for package substitutions. Would you suggest they submit an enhancement request rather than manually updating the notes on the service order?
