Overview
This tool is used to create a new Elite tenant directly from an Excel spreadsheet. Each time it is run, it generates a "conversion capsule" (with an associated CapsuleId). These capsules go into a common location (an S3 bucket) and can then be imported into the Elite Sandbox.
Before starting to use this tool, you need the following:
- A conversion slug for the client
- Time zone
- Default venue name
- An Excel spreadsheet containing the data to be imported - see the Elite Spreadsheet Import Fact Sheet for details about the requirements.
Optionally, you can also use
- Document files - see the Spreadsheet Document Management article for details. [Note: This feature is slated to be released with the June 2026 major release.]
Note: It is important that this information remain consistent each time a spreadsheet conversion is run for a specific client.
The conversion slug is a short identifier for a particular client. It should consistent only of alpha-numeric characters or dashes (-). Examples:
isaac-theatre-royalst-louis-basketball
The Spreadsheet Conversion tool is in the Elite support app under Tools
Step 1: Creating a Client
Instead of entering the same information every time you convert a spreadsheet, you now register each client -- along with specification data -- once.
- Go to Conversion Tools tab
- Click on the Spreadsheet card
-
Click ADD CLIENT -- a form will appear on the right side
- Click on the Spreadsheet card
-
Fill in the Required Information

- You can now use this client for conversions!
✏️ Editing a Client
- Click on the client name in the list
- The details panel appears below
- Click CONFIGURE and then update any fields (except the slug - that can't be changed). This is also where you will edit the status mapping. When you first add the client, there will not be any status rows.
- Click SAVE when done
Step 2: Updating Metadata
This step is optional, and controls how Event Statuses are handled.
If you don't use this, the event statuses will continue to be handled according to the default rules described in the Elite Spreadsheet Import Fact Sheet.
When you update metadata, the tool will scan your spreadsheet for all Event Status codes and add them to the specification so that you can map them. The default rules will no longer apply.
How to update metadata
- Select the appropriate slug
- Choose the Update metadata option
- Add your spreadsheet file
- Click UPDATE METADATA
- This will take a few minutes to process -- you can us watch its progress in Support Tool Logs.
Mapping event statuses
Once you have updated the metadata, when you select the slug and click CONFIGURE, the statuses will appear and allow you to map them to the Elite equivalents.
Step 3: Running a Conversion
- Bring up the Spreadsheet tool again
- Select the appropriate slug
- Attach the spreadsheet file
- Select Run conversion
- Click CONVERT
Follow its progress on the Support Tool Logs page
Once it has completed, the capsule will show up in the capsule list on the Conversion Tools tab.
You can now run the Capsule Import.
