Resource Requirements / RTIC - Time-Based Availability and Deficiency Management
My Customer is finishing up RTIC implementation and identified an issue with the Resource Requirements window: it calculates inventory availability per day, not by actual start/end times.
The team has reviewed the relevant Knowledge Base article (View Resource Requirements – Momentus Support Center) and understands that equipment requirements are displayed/calculated per day, rather than being broken down by the individual start and end times of the item requirements.
Example: an item booked for 2 units (6am–12pm) and 1 unit (12pm–6pm) shows as 3 Order Units for the day, even though only 2 units are ever needed at once. For limited-stock items, this can falsely flag a deficiency — e.g., the team owns 2 units, they're used 9–10am and again 10:30–11:30am, but the system may still show it as deficient all day.
The team is willing to log time-based calculation as a future enhancement, but needs guidance now on how to operate with current functionality. Specifically, they're asking:
- Is there any existing view/workflow to check availability by item start/end time?
- How should the team tell the difference between a real deficiency and a false one caused by daily totals overlapping?
- Can a deficiency be acknowledged/overridden once the team has manually confirmed enough inventory is actually available?
- If nothing exists today, what's the recommended process for handling this while live on RTIC?
- Are there any config options or alternative workflows worth considering?
-
Martin Wooding can you provide guidance here?

Philip Bathfield Can you try in their TEST environment if the parameter below still works? I don't think it is available by default, but you can add this manually in their Organization Parameters. I have done this before with a customer (as you can see in the date… in 2022 ;-)) and it worked by then. It was the same business case.
