Anitha Khairnar Can we send this to dev, this is a bug ! I have used the same formula in Excel it is pulling the values, whereas it is not working in our environment.! Tested QE with the same issue
Seth Halvaksz FYI

Anitha Khairnar Satya Ram Nukala I don't know if change tracking supports custom formulas.
What is the goal of this formula? How will they use this information?
-
thats right, we only track standard fields as a part of change tracking.
-
Seth Halvaksz - The goal of the formula here is to identify the difference between “To value” and from value" ie., how many units were changed rather than calculating manually. This will help users to identify the difference between values quickly for operational planning and updates.
When i did looked into the database, i suspect the fields we have to report on are computed fields, so these fields are not text or numeric where excel formula would work (but would work in excel because it would convert those cells into numeric. Would you suspect this be an enhancement in this case?

-
Great analysis and reasoning, Himanshu . That is accurate - for us to track UDF - whether its a calculation or otherwise, would be an enhancement request. The fact that this is computation of non-numeric formats, would only make it more complex is my naive guess. You can ask the user to submit an enhancement request and we will see if its gets more customer votes to warrant a solution, else the customer will have to do the workarounds they do (excel, manual compute), in order to get this information.
Hope that helps. Thanks!

Himanshu thanks for confirming. This sounds like a valuable enhancement.
Anitha Khairnar Satya Ram Nukala please post a link to the enhancement request for reference.
