I might be wrong, but I had a case in the past where there is string limit of 65534 characters. Any more and it would cause issues with notes being printed on crystal reports.

Nicole is correct that anything more than 65,534 characters (including spaces) will throw errors in reports, but that's not a hard stop on notes in Momentus, just in Crystal Reports (it's a Crystal limitation). The system doesn't set a hard limit on the amount of characters entered into a note, but there may be a theoretical limit imposed by the database structure. I've never seen anyone run into a limit on a single note.

Adding additional info from engineering. What Nicole and Mike said is correct.

"There is no limit, but if the note or activity HTML characters exceed 65,534. It cannot be pulled into a Crystal Report and will throw an error, but we do not want to limit what we can do with notes/activities, just in case the note could be pulled into a Crystal Report.

The only way a customer should hit that limit is

    1. The embedded image data. That is putting the data for an image directly into the HTML.
    2. They have the note/activity so heavily formatted, but Crystal cannot use most of it.

Per Mike Johnson, if customers are using notes correctly, they should never hit the limit. Notes/Activities are not supposed to be pages of documentation, they are supposed to be quick little notes or reminders."
