Nicole Loh Satya Ram Nukala please advice

Hi Anitha Khairnar - in your first screenshot, notice the switch for “Edit-Enabled Grid” in the bottom left corner. If you click that then the status dropdown will be editable.
Carissa Harrison / Seth Halvaksz - Did 26.1 change the default behavior of whether the Work Order Items screen was grid editable or not? We're seeing a lot of confused and annoyed customers with this same question after updating to 26.1.
-
Its possible this was done in https://ungerboeck.atlassian.net/browse/APP-6620
Here are the engineering notes from that ticket:
- A software correction was made that was preventing Entry Dates from copying to Actual Item when completing Work Order Item.
- Important note regarding the "Entry" Fields:
- These are not real Database fields. They are temporary fields used in coordination with completion process to define what values will be set on the Actual Item.
- Therefore, after saving the record, these values will not save on the Work Order Item, they are saved on the Actual Item.
- I understand this is a confusing user experience. This "Entry" field process was implemented 15+ years ago in the application and has functioned that way all along as far as I can tell.
-
That change is in the area of Work Order Items, but none of the notes suggest there was a deliberate change to make the grid default to a non-editable mode.
-
Ok, I'm asking if there were any other changes in 26.1 that could have affected this.
-
Hi - i received confirmation that in 26.1 we default the grid on Work Order Items to be non-editable, in order to improve performance.
That's something we do need to call out in the 26.1 release notes @...
Anitha Khairnar note that is what is also making it look like “Item Status” is not editable. Just select “Edit-enabled Grid” and you'll see the drop-downs.
-
Seth Halvaksz Is there a Jira for this work? Please link that and I'll add it to the 26.1 release notes. And could we take a look at our processes that allowed a customer-facing change to be released without inclusion in the release notes?

Here's the ticket:
https://ungerboeck.atlassian.net/browse/APP-6858
Added release notes to it:
Improved performance for loading Work Order Items in views and dashboard gadgets for large date-range result sets.
When loading the grid in Work Order Items, the grid now loads in non-edit mode by default. Users can switch to edit mode by selecting the "Edit-Enabled Grid" toggle.
-
I've added a task for this which will be done next week.
