DocuSign Integration - Sending documents from shared email
AnsweredWe are currently onboarding a customer (UT Austin Athletics) and have a DocuSign configuration question. The customer would like to send documents for signature through Back Office using a shared DocuSign account, rather than individual user accounts.
Is it possible to connect an individual Back Office user to a shared DocuSign account that uses a different email address, or are there alternative ways to accomplish this? Our understanding is that this is not supported, but we were asked to confirm.

I feel like it can get messy with the consent to DocuSign.
DocuSign also has this article and mentions that it isn't recommended especially when SSO is involved - https://support.docusign.com/s/document-item?language=en_US&bundleId=rrf1583359212854&topicId=yow1725060726770.html&_LANG=enusWill see what others think about this too.

I agree with Nicole on this. It may be possible, but it's not the recommended workflow as the user granting consent is the user it will be coming from. They could maybe set up a generic user that they log in as to send the documents. That user would then need to be set up in DocuSign and the consent in Momentus granted to that user.

We do now have a way to have a shared docusign account - using “Customer Managed Keys” which was just released in last week's 26.1 patch, and is part of 26.2
They have to use SSO and the admin must use this check box. This will make DocuSign always function as the admin for users but DocuSign authenticated that for the admin user since it.
We are providing documentation to Linda, so she can create Knowledge Base articles on how to set this up.

Hi Seth Halvaksz, thank you for the update! Can you confirm that the below scenario is possible with the new release?
- Keri Webster (user email address: keri.webster@athletics.utexas.edu) will be able to send documents for signature through the DocuSign integration using a different, shared email address (business@athletics.utexas.edu). The DocuSign request will come from the Business DocuSign account, not Keri's. She needs to be able to do this while logged into back office as Keri Webster; the university will not allow them to set up a generic user to send documents from.
If so, when can we expect the documentation on how to set this up? We are trying to close out this customer's implementation project, and this is the last remaining item.

Response from engineering on your question:
“as long as the email of business@athletics.utexas.edu is tied to the admin account, they are using SSO and they have Use Admin Consent on behalf of others correctly configured, yes. This will work.”
Here is the engineering-created documentation. @... has in her backlog to consider how she'll update the customer-facing Docusign articles.
