Dashboard missing gadgets after upgrade

  • Description of the issue
    • What does the client want to do? Why do they want to do this?
      • Login into site and load the dash board AU - Management (Event Services)
      • Note that in Prod many gadgets went missing compared to UAT 
      • We looked into the logs, does not seem to have any information.
      • The last updated for Dashboard also seem to be in 2021.
  • What you've already tried or suggested. Why does this not work?
    • Have advised customer to rebuilt the dashboard. But they want to know how did the gadgets went missing. Please advice if there is a  method we can explore?

    Hi Anitha, while I haven't heard of upgrades causing gadgets to go missing, I cannot say for certain what else may have caused it. Unfortunately the updated field doesn't track deletion of gadgets on dashboards, making it hard to prove that a user was in there deleting it. I think it would be an enhancement to get the updated field on the edit dashboard window to track deletion and additions of gadgets. Another thing to check is possibly the window usage and see who accessed it post upgrade. But again, we are not able to say for certain that a user deleted gadgets. So probably raise an enhancement on behalf of them, if possible check who has access to delete gadgets, and continue monitoring once they have rebuilt the dashboard. If it becomes an issue again, we could potentially turn on full story to see if someone is deleting it post upgrade.
