Sales Goals per Team

Hi team, 

I have a question about Sales Goals and Sales Goal Types. I am preparing my sessions for EMEA Illuminate and building some test examples. For one of the examples I created, I would like to understand how it is designed.

  • I would like to set a Sales Goal for my team (4 people) to make a total of 120 phone calls over the year as a team.
  • I have set up the Sales Goals Type, so far so good. 
  • As next step, I have set up a Sales Goal, where I have included the team members, the goal (30 calls pp) and the dates: 
  • I have created two Activities: for one, I am the recipient, and for the other, Sarah is the recipient. Both are included as Team Members in this Sales Goal Type:
  • But now, in the Sales Goals Periods, the Periods are duplicating, one line for each member: 

How is this designed? I would have expected that the result (Contributed Amount) should be 1 for me and 1 for Sarah (and 0 for Max and Samy) which would lead to a total Contributed Amount of 2 (and not 8). Could this be related to the column ‘Is Team Goal’ being empty?

Also, when I create a report based on this, I am not able to get the correct results (which is related to the Sales Goals Periods for sure) 

 

Does anybody has some background how to understand this Team Sales Goal?

I managed to create other examples, but it’s this one that’s really giving me trouble.

    It looks like the implementation of this column and 2 others was interpreted as an overall roll up.

    Thanks Carissa Harrison, that makes sense and works fine for Sales Goals per Event for example. When I check another example, like the one below where no specific team members are added, these fields are doing exactly what it should: 

    It looks with specific names added in the Team Members Field, the system is duplicating the lines. 

    Do you have also background on the column ‘Is Team Goal’ because I can not find any example or test case where this column has any value. Maybe that is related?

    I'm not quite sure what the resolution is on this. What is the expected behavior, so I can clarify the description of the Team goal in the knowledge base article Minka linked?
