Market Segment Audit
AnsweredI have two customers who would like to audit and adjust their use of Market Segments to categorize Accounts. Both customers have existing Market Segments created. One customer has Market Segments that are too broad and they want to streamline them. Another customer has legacy Market Segments that are attached to an old/retired Org they no longer use so they would like to delete those and start from scratch.
The customer is trying to identify any potential downstream impacts or unintended consequences to overhauling these Market Segments. Do we have any best practice recommendations? It doesn't look like we have the ability to 'retire" or “Inactivate” a Market Segment.

Amy Durbin it can depend on the client type.. are these both convention centers? If so, look at the IAVM conference center reporting guide for suggestions.

Correct that you cannot retire a market segment value. After deciding on the NEW segment list, map old segments to new segments. After updating ALL accounts with the new segment assignments, you should be free to delete the old segments.
