Double click - what determines Edit or edit the inline?

Hi Team,

What determines whether double-clicking an item, such as POs, Events, or Accounts, triggers an Edit of that item? Additionally, in some areas, double-clicking allows for inline editing—what causes this difference?

  I'm going to assume you mean when selecting an individual Subject from a grid. 
  
  There are grids that are deemed by the software as editable. You cannot modify this setting. (Accounts & Contacts are the only grids in which this setting is modifiable). On editable grids you and edit inline then save. On non editable grids you can double click the row to navigate to the subject's page.
