Yes new software versions also include security updates.

Thanks Seth Halvaksz for the quick answer. Where do we make visible, which security updates are included in each version?

  • Seth Halvaksz

We don't include in release notes. Do you have any background on why the customer is asking, and what would they do with the information.

Thanks Seth. Yes i have. Our frequency of software releases is to high for the customer i'm working with. They experience that there are to many bugs in the latest releases, thats why they only want to update twice per year. If security updates are included in new versions, it could be a risk for them, if they don't follow each version. Thats why they would like to see the security updates in each version, to decide wether they will update to that version or not.

To clarify, when you say “each version” do you mean a major release (such as 25.2 or 25.3) or do you mean patches?

Most patches do not include security updates. The major releases do. So they could upgrade just twice per year.

With each version i mean major releases.

Ok - yes there are security updates in each major release.  I can find out if we could share that information, we haven't done that before.

Thanks Seth, i think as many customers are not aware of this important part of the major releases, it could help to increase the acceptance of these releases.
