Use CSS on Web Theme to hide elements on OSB

  • Hide Time Filter via CSS on web theme
    • They want to not allow OSB users to use time filters - which I believe is standard in our OSB configuration and doesn't have an option to remove
    • Is it possible to hide these elements on the web theme using CSS or does this get overridden by OSB? 
      • If possible - what is the best workflow to go about this?

    Anthony Costantino  - If you have a chance, can you weigh in as well?

    My assumption here is that they are trying to use CSS to override standard behavior of the time filters.  I imagine we would say the best practice is to NOT do that.  However I do not know enough about how CSS works with OSB to hazard anything more than that.

    I'm not sure if they don't want the time to be changeable when the room is being selected or if they don't want the time to show at all - not sure what their intention is.

    I asked Engineering for their input on this, and here's the response:

    "Customizing OSB generally requires a Web theme customization, and dynamically changing elements requires both CSS and Javascript

    Javascript requires someone on technical services most likely to both write the code to hide the fields and also "host" that javascript somewhere the customer instance can access it

    I would defer you to someone like Emily Crank or her team about this request"

    Seth Halvaksz  and Samuel Davidson  - I checked in with Emily since she is not on Documentus. She advised that: TS would not take undertake this, they can't guarantee that it would work across releases/versions and it could end up causing an unexpected experience.

    So it sounds like even customizing hiding these fields would not be a recommended or viable long term solution. 

    An enhancement request to have the ability to show whether date filters display after initial search selection could be an option?

    Emily and I are aligned. Why technically possible, Services no longer recommends customizing web themes as a best practice.
