User Groups

Hi, please can I get advice regarding what the purpose of the ‘User Groups’ setting is and intended usage?
I have not been able find any KB articles on this or determine from the App.
How does this relate to Roles in relation to user grouping/security permissions?

I'm not sure there is any functionality built into them. They may just be used for organizational purposes. Unfortunately, it looks like the original enhancement case references videos that are on a drive no longer accessible. Not sure if there is a backup somewhere. In MYUSI, Case# 323494 - Ungerboeck - I want to set up user groups.

Joe further clarified with customer and user groups will not satisfy what they need. Passing on to consultants to advice further, event UDFs with validation tables may be what they need instead.
