SSO and Add-ins

Hi all - not sure where best to post this but was directed here. 

Discussing backoffice SSO with a client and upon reviewing the SOW, they shared the following with me: 
 


“”While we are waiting for the budget approval process to run its course, I wanted to ask you a question regarding the process. In the document Stephanie sent to me, it states the following:

Customer responsibility:

Customer must nominate Test users

Customer must ensure latest versions of the Provider Enterprise Outlook, Office & Web Add-In are installed on end users Customer machines

I was under the impression that all plugins were being phased out. If these plugins are indeed required, we might need to reconsider this implementation. The plugins have been problematic in the past, even when dealing with a limited number of users. I am concerned about the potential burden it could place on our support staff if every Momentus user needs them.

 If plugins are needed, could you please explain why this is a requirement? We have several other applications configured and utilizing SSO, and there are no plugin requirements for them.""

I wasn't aware that the SOW included reference to the plug-ins. My understand was also that we're phasing out plug-ins and I can imagine the language is just included for the sake of covering our bases. Can someone confirm?

    Seth Halvaksz I don't know the answer to this questions.  I would be with Paul in wondering why it is required.  You can check with support since they “support” the backoffice integration.

    Thanks Rob. I am also not sure i understand the question. The Plugins should not be required for SSO.

    Cathy Herrick  do the plugins require SSO, to your knowledge?

    That said, while we have a plan to replace the Outlook plugin (with Email integration for Activities in 25.2) we currently do not have a replacement planned for the other plugins.

    Jonathan Schmidt  - I think Seth's question is more Tech Support centric.

    Plugins do not require SSO.

    I think their real question is which add-ins are required in order to use Momentus. The only add-in that is required in order to use Enterprise is the Web Add-in. This is needed for opening/editing documents and printing. 

    If they want to use additional functionality, such as Word Merge or pushing emails into Momentus from Outlook, then the Office add-ins are needed, but they are not required unless you specifically want this functionality.

    Mike Schepker reading this back… Client's question was whether or not the plug-ins are required for them to use SSO. Looks like your response is to the inverse… The SOW to add SSO requires updated plugins. It is my nderstanding these will go away. To confirm: client does not need the plugins in order to add SSO. Am I misunderstanding?

    The plugins don't require SSO and SSO does not require plugins.
