  • Description of the issue:

Customers who have more than 2 environments, are finding it really confusing that they can't change the color schemes between, e.g. PROD, TEST & SandBox

v24.4 (also with new UI)

  • Steps to reproduce:

Change the color scheme in Orgs, Site Config or User settings - no difference as Color Schemes have been made redundant.

  • Observed results vs Expected results:

No color changes to differentiate between the different environments VS. the way it worked in the past, where they would have PROD=Blue, TEST=Green & SB/DEV/TRAIN/EDU=Purple for instance

  • What is the job the client is trying to accomplish:

Differentiate between their different environments so that there is no confusion - users are logging in to PROD when they have training, as the TRAINING environment is the same color & they don't realize they have the wrong environment

  • Business impact if not resolved:

Could be fatal…if a user thinks they're busy testing in TEST but they change something in another environment instead

In https://supportcenter.ungerboeck.com/hc/en-us/articles/27717834263831-New-UI-Details it explains about the removal of color schemes & the adding of a banner in TEST - however, there is no banner option for any other environment - this could already solve the issue here, if we could manually create/edit/choose a banner to display on the top of every environment

    Pieter Fourie We are expanding the site category flag to read other non prod environments in 25.2 (Sandbox, Edu, etc) and patched back. I am still in discussions with UX regarding improved ways to differentiate between Orgs. This would be in 25.2 and patched back.

    Good morning all.

    Just checking in to hear if this was actually addressed in 25.2 already & if the changed was also 7pàtched back to 24.4…

    Carissa Harrison will this be patched back to 24.4 and 25.1

    Pieter Fourie  It is currently scheduled to be patched back to versions 24.4 and 25.1. While this is the current plan and has been discussed, it may change depending on risk assessment.

    Carissa Harrison Harvard is also inquiring about having a banner in their TEST2 environment. Should I let them know this would be included in a later release of 24.4 or not available until 25.1?

    Zach Lono  Correct. We are beginning on development on this, this sprint. If there are any changes to patching back it will be communicated.

    Not sure if my eyes deceived me, but I think I saw a TRAINING environment yesterday, displaying the typical “THIS IS A TRAINING…” banner - If so, does this mean the fix has now been implemented?
